Self care at anytime in our lives is so important, yet an area we tend to neglect. We tend to neglect it when others need our attention. I liken it often to having a bookshelf. We usually have room on it, sometimes we could fit one or two extra books on, but sometimes it is full, choker block full! But we still keep trying to fit more on, the more life demands from us the more books go on, until one falls off, then another. We don’t have the energy to pick up the books to put back on, nor do we have the energy to take any off. Result? Exhaustion, burnout, feelings of been overwhelmed, not coping etc. A spiral of self doubt, our inner critic gets louder and we just carry on.
Solution? Look at some of the above. Some we can do some we can’t Some we don’t want to do, but give one or two a try. Look after yourself. Especially at times of crisis, grief, sadness. We/You are so worth it.
